Prof MacCarthy is Professor of Interventional Cardiology at King's College London. He trained in Bristol, Oxford and Cardiff, before an International Fellowship in Aalst in 2002. He was appointed Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at King’s College Hospital, London in 2003, Clinical Lead in 2007 and Clinical Director in 2012. He was appointed Professor of Interventional Cardiology in 2014. He set up the primary PCI service and the TAVI/structural programme at King’s and also has research interests in applied coronary physiology. He Chairs the BCIS Structural Intervention Working Group and the NHS Pan-London ACS Advisory Group.
